P.B.I.S

For Wisconsin schools and districts, implementing an equitable multi-level system of supports means providing equitable services, practices, and resources to every learner based upon responsiveness to effective instruction and intervention. In this system, high quality instruction, strategic use of data, and collaboration interact within a continuum of supports to facilitate learner success. Schools provide varying types of supports at differing levels of intensity to proactively and responsively adjust to the needs of the whole child. These include the knowledge, skills, and habits learners need for success beyond high school, including developmental, academic, behavioral, social and emotional skills.

One of the ways we provide support is through PBIS.  Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a systemic approach to proactive, school-wide behavior based on a Response to Intervention (RtI) model. PBIS applies evidence-based programs, practices and strategies for all students to increase academic performance, improve safety, decrease problem behavior, and establish a positive school culture. Schools implementing PBIS build on existing strengths, complementing and organizing current programming and strategies. The PBIS model has been successfully implemented in thousands of schools in over 40 states, resulting in dramatic reductions in disciplinary interventions and increases in academic achievement. Data-based decision making is a hallmark of PBIS, allowing successes to be easily shared with all relevant stakeholders.

Incentive Field Trips

At Lane Intermediate School we know how important it is for students to achieve academic success, act in a positive way behaviorally, and come to school everyday and on time.  That is why we offer quarterly field trip incentives for students that can meet such high expectations.  Each year we offer 4 field trips for students that meet certain criteria at the end of each quarter.  In order for students to qualify, they need to have ZERO D's or F's, ZERO Office Referrals, and ZERO unexcused absences.
